What better way to take a mundane activity and add some color and a little mystery! Pixel art is one of the greatest ways you can engage students in mathematical thinking while holding their focus as they use their creativity and problem solving skills to uncover the mystery underneath.
My Digital Hidden Picture Activities for Google Sheets are magical and mysterious! My students love to reveal the missing pieces of the Picture Puzzle every time they answer a question correctly and I absolutely love the self-checking, instant feedback it provides!
So how does it work?
- Assign students the Google Sheet in Google classroom or give them the link just as you would any Google Slide or Doc. The slides are already formatted and ready to go!
- Students type the correct answer in the answer box. The box will turn green to show it is correct AND a piece of the picture will be revealed!
- If students answer incorrectly, the box will turn red. They must then figure out the correct answer. And they WANT to!
- Once students have completed all of the questions correctly, a Hidden Picture will be fully shown, revealing the enticing mystery they’ve been after the whole time!
